"Restore our Heart" Capital Campaign

Our formal capital campaign to raise funds for the future St. André House has ended as of Feb. 27, 2022. With your help, we raised $844,913 of our $1.2 million dollar goal for the project. Thank you for your generous support! The work of the project is on schedule, however we have experienced supply chain issues. We anticipate the St. André House to be completed in April 2022 and to be dedicated during our 100th Anniversary on July 16, 2022. If you would like to give to the project, you still can! You can make a contribution to the project by giving on our online giving platform or on our Ministry One online giving app or by scanning the QR code below with your smartphone to give. Thank you!

Phase 2- In Progress
Repurpose the old rectory and repave the parking lot
The next phase of the “Restore Our Heart” Capital Campaign has begun. The goal is to raise $1.2 million to repurpose the old rectory into the St. André House and repave the parking lot. The St. André House is a much-needed place for the parish community to gather and meet; to create two new classrooms; and, for the first time on the parish grounds, to offer handicapped-accessible restrooms.  Click here to learn more about the project.

We need your financial support to complete this project! Members of the Parish Finance Council will be reaching out to parishioners to ask for their participation in the Capital Campaign. If you would like to speak to a Finance Council Member, contact the Parish Office at 719-633-8711. You can make a contribution to the project by giving on our online giving platform or on our Ministry One online giving app or by completing an Intention to Give form. Contributions can also be dropped in the collection basket at Mass (be sure to mark them for the Sacred Heart Capital Campaign) or mailed directly to the Sacred Heart Parish Office, Attn: Business Manager, 2021 W. Pikes Peak Ave., Colorado Springs, CO 80904.

We look forward to our parish’s 100th anniversary in July 2022, when we will have fully restored Sacred Heart Church, opened St. André House, and rejuvenated our parking lot! The church will be fully paid off and we’ll amortize the loan for St. André House and the parking lot with the donations from the Capital Campaign. Sacred Heart will be ready for whatever changes the future brings! Thank you for your support.

A Capital Campaign message from our pastor Fr. Ron Raab, CSC
Phase 1- Complete
Restore Sacred Heart Church
The restoration of Sacred Heart Church was completed in May 2018. The total cost of the restoration was $2.5 million dollars. The "Restore our Heart" Capital Campaign to raise funds began a few years ago. Parishioners were asked to make a one-time gift or pledges over a three year period. With the help of savings and donations, we were able to pay $1.75 million up front for the project. We took out a loan with the Diocese for $750,000.

We are happy to report that through your generosity, in three years we have paid down our loan to $92,355.57! We have received 91% of pledges made. Sixty-six percent of those who made a pledge have already paid off their pledges. Twenty-five percent of those who made a pledge are still making payments. We are on track to pay off the loan by July 2022.

So what’s next? We will work with our architect to get a more accurate cost on the renovation of the old rectory.  The new "Meeting House" will have handicap accessible restrooms, a multipurpose meeting space and classroom space. As our parish grows, the need for the Meeting House continues to increase.

We thank everyone who has supported us through donations, prayers and participation in the King Soopers Community Rewards Program. Our phenomenal progress in paying down the loan proves that every little bit helps.

If you would like to give to the Sacred Heart Church Capital Campaign, visit our Online Giving page. Create an online account or "Quick Give" without creating an account. Select "Restore Our Heart Building Fund" under the give a new gift section.  Thank you for your generosity!
