Welcome Newcomers!
Thank you for your interest in our parish. Whether you’re just visiting us for a brief time, looking for a new parish home, are returning to the practice of your Catholic faith or are interested in finding out more about the Catholic Church, we’re happy to have you here.
A parish is a community of believers and a spiritual family that is supportive and loving. It can be a place to grow spiritually, to put your faith in action, and to use our gifts of time and talent as disciples of Christ. We look forward to answering any questions you may have. In the meantime, please look through the resources we’ve made available on these pages:
I want to register as a new parishioner.
I’m a returning Catholic.
I’m interested in learning more about the Catholic Church.
I want to become Catholic.

With Appreciation: A Note from Fr. Ronald Raab, CSC

Dear Followers of Jesus,
We are so glad that you have chosen to worship with us and want to offer a warm welcome as you enter into the life of our parish!
While each of our three churches—Sacred Heart in Old Colorado City, Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Manitou Springs, and Holy Rosary Chapel in Cascade—is unique in its heritage and community, we share a common mission: “As a prayerful Catholic community of service following Jesus Christ’s message of hope and salvation, we make God known, loved, and served.” We live this in the ways we serve our community, in our local neighborhoods and in the city beyond, and we encourage you to become an active part of the ministries we offer. Wherever you feel called to help—with the poor and marginalized, with those in search of faith and a sense of belonging, with those seeking to explore and deepen their relationship with Jesus, or even with the ways in which we serve each other as parishioners—we have a place for you!
Some of the ministry opportunities that are available and ongoing include our twice-weekly Food Pantry, which provides emergency food assistance, and the Lord’s Dinner every Sunday evening, which offers a hot meal and a compassionate presence to anyone in need of either. Our faith formation programs for children, youth, and adults all depend upon volunteers with a heart for service and a desire to share their faith. Perhaps you would like to participate in one of our liturgical ministries at Mass; accompany someone on their journey to full initiation in the Catholic faith; help prepare sympathy meals for bereaved families following a funeral; or have skills or experience to offer on our Pastoral or Finance Council. Whether you have a lot of time to give or just a little, we have a place for you!
We invite you to join in as we gather in fellowship—Bible and other book studies; Adult Faith Formation; art and poetry classes; special parish events; coffee and donuts on Sunday mornings. Visit my blog, “Broken But Not Divided,” available at www.ronaldraab.com, and our weekly bulletin is posted to the website. Follow us on Facebook.
Please let us know if we can be of assistance to you. And do take time to stop by the parish office (we are open on Sunday mornings as well as during the week) to say hello! We look forward to seeing you.
In peace,
Fr. Ronald Raab, CSC
