Safe Environment

Sacred Heart Parish is dedicated to maintaining a safe environment for all parishioners, especially our children.

All adults who volunteer with children or youth are required to be Safe Environment Trained, which includes a background check, signing required policy forms such as the diocese's "Sexual Misconduct Policy," and completing annual Safe Environment training. All training is done online with Virtus.

The children and youth of our parish also receive age-appropriate Safe Environment Training during our Faith Formation classes. The training is provided by Virtus and is entitled "Protecting God's Children." Parents are given an overview of the training at the beginning of the class year and the opportunity for their child to opt out of training.

Clergy, staff, and novices also must complete Safe Environment Training, including background checks, signing policy forms, and regular Safe Environment Training.

If you have questions about our parish's Safe Environment program, please contact Grace Donnelly, Safe Environment Coordinator, at communications@sacredheartcos.org.
